South Dakota splits cleanly into two very different hauling markets, and we treat them that way. The eastern half along I-29 is agricultural and municipal work centered on Sioux Falls, Brookings, Watertown and Aberdeen, close enough to our Midwest lanes to cover efficiently. The western half is Black Hills country, where terrain, grade and quarry stone drive the equipment decision.
That second half is where our material supply side earns its keep. Being able to source aggregate and haul it with the same company removes a coordination problem that gets expensive fast when a job site is two hours from the nearest pit and nobody wants to own the schedule.
