Service Writer

Purchase, store and issue parts, and run the work order process that keeps our heavy truck shop moving. Reports to the Shop Supervisor.

What you'll do

✓Contact vendors to order parts and perform parts runs when needed

✓Enter payable invoices and compare them against requisitions for quality and quantity

✓Store parts in the storeroom, issue them to workers and keep inventory organized

✓Create work orders for repairs and assign repair jobs to mechanics

✓Record repair time expended by mechanics and proof work orders for accuracy

✓Complete the work order process for operations manager approval, then finalize and file

✓Organized and comfortable tracking parts, invoices and inventory

✓Able to read shop manuals to identify the right part and specification

✓Assists in supervising shop employees, including assigning and directing work

✓Parts, service writing or heavy truck shop experience preferred
