Safety & Compliance Coordinator

Own compliance with all governing agencies including OSHA, DOT and FMCSA across the company, plus driver recruiting, training and accident investigation. Reports to the Operations Manager.

What you'll do

✓Plan, organize and execute compliance programs under federal, state and local transportation regulations and OSHA shop safety

✓Lead all driver recruiting, interviews and hiring, and run onboarding training for new hires

✓Serve as first contact for all accidents, manage investigations, reports and claims

✓Administer the DOT and FMCSA drug and alcohol policy and audit logs for compliance

✓Handle annual IFTA and IRP filing, permits, permit books and insurance records

✓Analyze driving habits with tracking software, conduct ride alongs and build driver training plans

✓Conduct surprise pre-trip and post-trip inspections and OSHA shop inspections

✓Plan and run monthly safety meetings, attend PreCons and visit project sites weekly

✓Review SMS DOT scores and audit safety policies annually

What you'll need

✓Working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA and OSHA regulations

✓Experience in trucking safety, compliance or driver qualification preferred

✓Comfortable supervising in the area of safety and compliance

✓Organized, thorough and able to keep a paper trail that stands up to an audit
